Chopped nuts measurement conversions

Recipes switch between volume (cups, tablespoons and teaspoons) and weight (grams) all the time, and for chopped nuts the two aren't interchangeable — you have to know the density. Chopped nuts has a density of about 0.52 g/ml, which means:

• 1 cup of chopped nuts ≈ 125 g
• 1 dl of chopped nuts ≈ 52 g
• 1 tablespoon of chopped nuts ≈ 7.8 g
• 1 teaspoon of chopped nuts ≈ 2.6 g

Measuring tip. Weight varies with how finely the nuts are chopped — smaller pieces pack denser. These values suit a rough chop.
